What is Writing in the Shadows?
Is it a website? A newsletter? An ever-evolving collection of short stories? Is it autobiographical? Can you listen to it as well as read it? Does it have the power to kill you?
The answer to all of those questions is yes. Except for that last one, which is yes but only if you ask it to, and only in a story.
Hello and welcome, my name is Ken Preston, and I am a novelist and short story writer.
I write in many different genres including horror, thriller, young adult, and romance.
Here are some of my books.
And I teach creative writing both online and in-person, and in schools and colleges.
As you can see, I love writing, not only novels but short stories and flash fiction too.
But what is Writing in the Shadows about?
It's a place for me to play, with words, with form and genre, to shake myself up and create something different. It's also a place for me to delve into my life, and to explore some of those darker corners.
